Our Vehicle

2016 Toyota Sequoia

Our Overlanding adventures start with a 2016 Toyota Sequoia. It was purchased used, one owner with 30k miles. The Sequoia was a better option for us than the 4Runner for the space and V8 engine.

Custom Bumper

The bumper is a custom design fabricated by CNC Offroad in Kenosha, WI.  It includes a 12k lb Smittybuilt winch and is Linex coated for durability.

Sun & Rain Protection

23Zero Peregrine

The Peregrine awning from 23Zero is a nice compliment to the roof top tent and provides 270 degree protection from sun & rain. The awning was really easy to install, once the correct brackets were shipped. And super-easy to set up for quick sun or rain protection.

Roof Rack

Front Runner Outfitters

We picked the Front Runner roof rack because it was designed specifically for our vehicle to hold the weight of all our equipment.

Tires & Wheels

Nitto + Black Rhino

33" Nitto Ridge Grapplers with Black Rhino Sidewinder rims (20x9). The tires have a nice balance between low road noise and good traction. And the wheels were selected because..well, they're just bad a$$.

Kitchen Set Up

Tailgater Tire Table

The tire table was the best $100 spent the whole weekend at the 2019 Overland Expo East! It was easy to set up and adjust for the larger tire depth and ground clearance, and was the perfect spot for the camp stove, leaving enough room to set cooking utensils and towels on the edges.

Sleeping Quarters

23Zero Walkabout

The Walkabout from 23Zero because of it's size, mimicking the king size bed we have at home. :)  We're a family of 6+-footers so leg room and headroom are important!

The Lift

3" Toytech Lift

The 3" Toytech lift was picked for it's travel and allowance for larger tires and a much smoother ride.
